RETEST POLICY

As a reminder, if a scholar receives a 70% or lower on a test, they must retake the test.  The policy also states that they must come to a tutorial prior to retaking the test.

For Wednesday, 9/10/2014 (B) and Thursday, 9/11/2014 (A) we are doing "in-class" tutorials for anyone who needs to retake the test.  Retakes will be on Friday, 9/12 (B) and Monday 9/15 (A) during class.

Retakes can only gain a high grade of 70%.

This is the only time, I will do this tutorial and retake in class.  This is the first quarter and I know that scholars don't know what to expect in terms of rigor for my tests.  They do now.  I think it is important to take the time to study, prep, test, re-study, and retest for this first test because then the scholars will be prepared for higher rigor on the rest of the tests.

After this week, all scholars who are required to retake the test will need to come to the following Thursday tutorial time, and retake the test that Friday after school.

Thank you for your patience with this process as we ELEVATE EXPECTATIONS of our scholars.

Very respectfully,

Mrs. Braun

HAWK Time!

Here's your mission....should you choose to accept it.....and you should. It's not optional...

Find Anyone who is Historically REAL or FICTIONAL* that has influenced our American Society.

Ideally, you should pick someone who stood up for Social Injustice or cause in America.

Our Project will culminate in a Socratic Forum where you will assume the character of your person.

For example:  My Person is Theodore Geisel AKA Dr. Suess.  He was an environmentalist and talked about social injustice in his books.  The Lorax and Yurtle the Turtle are two examples.

*The reason why I say fictional, for example, if you choose Mark Twain then you can play the character of Mark Twain or one of his book characters: Tom or Huck.

This is going to be soooooooo much fun!!!!!!
